The stress and the debonding of the interface in coating layers structure due to thermal loading are investigated by using boundary element methods(BEM).The nearly-singular integrals that arise in the boundary integral equation(BIE)for such thin layered structures cannot be accurately evaluated using the standard Gaussian quadrature method.A new scheme to achieve high accuracy for nearly-singular integrals is proposed in which the equal-accuracy Gaussian quadrature combined with the hyperbolic sine transformation is applied.First, the elements are divided into a number of sub-regions according to the equal-accuracy Gaussian quadrature. Then the hyperbolic sine transformation is employed on each subdivision, thus the transformed integral can be accurately evaluated using conventional Gaussian quadrature.
