Shock waves are retlected along a planar surtace.As incident angle increases,the configuration of regular shock reflection gives way to Mach reflection.Wind tunnel experimental shows that the transition from regular reflection to Mach reflection happens at an incident angle θc smaller than the maximal angle θmax mathematically predicted by shock polar.
