We live with trillions of microbes in the intestine,these microbes is coexisting in a homeostatic relationship with the host and establishing a stable optimal symbiosis.Intestinal microbiota and functionality in the early life could affect health later in life.The microbiota benefits from a stable nutrient supply in the intestinal tract while the host gains products from microbial fermentation conversion of indigestible components into short chain fatty acids,vitamin K and B12 production.The functions of the microbiome including synthesis of amino acid and vitamins processing complex plant polysacchrides to short chain fatty acid and shape gut immune system to defense against pathogen.The resident intestine microbiota has been suggested to play a crucial role in the development of mucosa immunology tolerance and influence health throughout life.Many studies indicated probiotics could modulate immune response through intestine (increse IgAproducing plasma cells and induce immune tolerance to commensals micorobiome) and systemic immune regulation (increase Treg cell and polarization of Th1).
