Recent advances in our ability to precisely modify plant genomes have been facilitated by engineering sequence-specific nucleases, such as zinc finger nucleases (ZFNs) and TAL effector nucleases (TALENs).The genome editing outcomes that we work on include non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ)-based targeted mutagenesis and gene cluster deletion as well as homologous recombination (HR)-based gene replacement.
