Mechanical impedance of ship hull in waves represents the inhere characteristics of the wet hull.The modal analysis method can describe vibration characteristics of the ships complex structure accurately and comprehensively, as well as can well simplify the analysis process.In this paper, the mechanical impedance of ship hull in waves is studied, its dynamic characteristics is analyzed, and the effect of the free surface and the compressibility of the fluid medium on the mechanical impedance is discussed.In this paper, the mechanic impedances of the SWATH ship hull are calculated, and the results are contrasted with the results calculated by the structural analysis software: MSC.Nastran.
