The Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works (SCISTW)-Stage 1, located in Hong Kong and presently the worlds largest chemically enhanced primary treatment (CEPT) STW, is being upgraded from the existing design capacity of 1.7 million m3/day to 2.45 million m3/day, with a maximum hydraulic peak factor of 1.7.

A novel numerical model for simulating open channel flows in river networks has been developed using Godunov method in order to avoid the problem that the traditional numerical models often fail when
Due to the interaction between branch flow and main stream at confluence zone in open channel, the water level of free surface often varies dramatically.
Traditional numerical models for shallow flows are mostly based on the Saint-Venant equations derived for horizontal or gentle slopes, which however are not generally justified for flows over steep sl
Rectangular jet or nappe flow constitutes one of the energy dissipation methods in arch dams. The high turbulence and aeration phenomena that appear in fall jets and dissipation basins make difficult t
Anintegrated surface flow routing algorithm called SWE_KWA is developed in this paper. The algorithm is based the shallow water equations and the kinematic wave approximation.
Dam breach can cause significant fatalities and economic costs. The numerical investigation of dam breach flows is playing an increasingly essential role in hydraulic and river engineering in respect t
Some environmental, irrigation and engineering applications have a special interest in the accurate simulation of 3D subsurface flows.
This paper demonstrates the application of InfoWorks CS model for the calibration of hydraulic performance of Stage 1 and also for the hydraulic design of Stage 2 HATS system.
The flow state around hydraulic structures such as groins and weirs composed of connected stones is extremely complicated. Therefore, more accurate approach velocities must be used in designing these s
