Photodynamic antimicrobial therapy(PACT)is a promising new method to kill the bacteria.The photosensitizer under excitation light of specific wavelength can produce reactive oxygen species,which can create phototoxicity in the lighted area [1].PACT can rapidly inactivate a variety of bacteria or viruses,and eliminate the drug resistance.Recently we develop a novel asymmetric phthalocyanine as photosensitizer(see below).Preliminary work showed that the compound can target negative charge on the surface of bacterial membrane and inactivate bacteria effectivly.
