The protease production and its characteristics were investigated with Bacillus polyfermenticus SCD.Under the nutrient broth conditions,the protease activity reached to 41.8 unit/ml within 48 h of the fermentation when the cell growth reached late log phase or early stationary phase.The protease was partially purified by ammonium sulfate fractionation and DEAE Sephadex-A50 column chromatography.
