  Aim:To synthesis a novel chitosan derivative,N-octyl-N-arginine chitosan(OACS),with a mimetic structure of Arginine rich Peptides.OACS micelles loaded Insulin (Ins-OACS) was prepared,characterized and evaluated.Methods:Octyl groups were introduced onto chitosan by nucleophilic addition and the subsequent reduction.And the formed products were conjugated with arginine under the catalysis of EDC and NHS to form OACS.The structure of OACS was evaluated by elemental analysis,spectrophotometry,FT-IR,1H NMR etc.
