Porphyrin-containing Cytochrome P450 and peroxidase enzymes are ubiquitous in nature,and found in a variety of biological oxidation catalysts.Laboratory synthesized metalloporphyrins have been extensively used as model compounds to mimic the wide range of oxidation reactions of these enzymes.Here,we report porphyrinfunctionalized multi-walled carbon nanotube composites in which there is a non-covalent conjugation between the porphyrins and the polyethylenimine-grafted multiwalled carbon nanotubes[1,2].
