NK cells function in anti-tumor immune response has been focused in our lab for 25 years.Some interesting and unexplainable phenomena is confusing us for a long time, including NK cell emperipolesis into tumor cells (especially blood cancer cells), NK cells apoptosis in tumor cell and our recent finding that NK cell has a higher emperiolesis ratio into stem cells than tumor cells.In traditional thinking, NK cells function is to kill tumor cell.Why NK entering into tumor cell and committing suicide or being killed by tumor cell is hard to be understood.The finding that NKs higher empeiolesis ratio into stem cell may lighten this confusion and drive us to make a hypothesis that NK cell is not liked to enter tumor cell but lured into it just because it has some characteristics of stem cell.
