SLGS model-the nanophysical interaction of pore water with gel matrix

　　A new version of the solid-liquid-gel-system (SLGS) model for hardened cement paste is presented here.As previous the SLGS it describes the interaction of pore-water and solid gel-structure under environmental changes-especially drying and frost action.The new version confirms the experimental findings of both the Feldman-Sereda model which relates mass change and shrinkage and the Munich model relates surface energy and hygric deformation in the low vapor pressure region.However, the interpretation is completely different since we must state that the gel particles expand while the total hardened cement paste shrinks.The discrepancy can be resolved by using surface physics especially the disjoining pressure.The results are based on high precision gravimetric sorption measurement combined simultaneously with density by Helium-pycnometry, heat of fusion, and isothermal length change (shrinkage), all with small hardened cement paste specimens.
