Background and Aims: Pleural effusion is a complication of liver cirrhosis.The impact on the prognosis of liver cirrhosis remains unclear.Our study aimed to evaluate the prevalence,risk factors,and in-hospital outcome of pleural effusion in liver cirrhosis.Methods: All cirrhotic patients who were consecutively admitted to our hospital between January 2011 and June 2014 were retrospectively reviewed.Chest image data were collected to identify the grade of pleural effusion.
