Anthocyanins are a group of flavonoid compounds that fulfill important biological functions in plants.Purple-skinned stem Chinese kale accumulates significant amounts of anthocyanin and are benefical to human health.To develop molecular markers for breeding of Chinese kale lines with high anthocyanin content and isolate the candidate gene underlying anthocyanin synthesis, we performed inheritance and fine mapping of the novel anthocyanin biosynthetic gene of Chinese kale in this study.
