Certain flavone (2-phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one) and isoflavone (3-phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one) derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their cardiovascular activities.These compounds were synthesized from 7-hydroxyflavone and 7-hydroxyisoflavone which were treated with formalin and various amines (Mannich reaction) to get their aminoalkyl products.Using isolated porcine coronary arteries to process the screening test,these compounds have various relaxation activities with IC50 values of 8.50 to 76.19 μm.Because of no significant cytotoxicity,these compounds maybe helpful for developing novel cardiovascular agents.The mechanisms and structure-activity relationships are investigated now.
