Three new ent-pimarane diterpenes, named dumetorumanes A-C (1-3), were isolated from the ethanol extract of Aralia dumetorum, together with three known compounds including ent-pimara-8(14), 15-diene-19-oic acid (4), ent-pimar-8(14), 15-dien-19-ol (5), and ent-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid (6).By detailed analyses of the MS, IR, and NMR data, the structures of dumetorumanes A-C (1-3) were characterized as ent-pimar-6,8(14),15-trien-19-oic acid (1),ent-7β-methoxylpimar-8(14), 15-dien-19-oic acid (2), and ent-14β-methoxylpimar-7,15-dien-19-oic acid (3).The cytotoxic activities of compounds 1-6 were assayed in vitro through MTT method.
