To investigate whether phosphorylation level of cAMP-responsive element binding protein (p-CREB) and allopregnanolone content in hippocampus could be the biomarkers for the effect of acute alcohol administration on neurobehavioral function.Alcohol was administered to rats by intragastric lavage with doses of 1,2 and 3 g/kg.Two h later,Morris Water Maze performance was applied to evaluate neurobehavioral function,and p-CREB in rat hippocampus was determined by Western Blotting,while allopregnanolone content was measured by HPLC-ESI-MS/MS.Neurobehavioral function,p-CREB level and allopregnanolone content were determined at 0.5,1,2,4 and 8 hour after administration with alcohol 3g/kg.
