Both the reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO) in the brain are well characterized for their roles in neural regulation of cardiovascular functions.Oxidative stress resultant from imbalance between productions over degradation of ROS contributes to neural mechanism of hypertension via sympathoexcitation.NO derived from various isoforms of NO synthases (NOS) plays a differential role in sympathetic regulation of blood pressure.
