A novel ionization device for analyzing small organic molecules,such as naphthalene,anthracene,and benzopyrene,was developed by placing a sharp stainless steel tip in front to the mass spectrometer inlet in a proximal distance in order to induce the corona discharge effect when droplets were formed.
