Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of humans major food staples, and 1,000-grain weight (TGW) is a vital component of grain yield.To identify thegenes conditioning this trait and reveal its molecular mechanism, we carried out a quantitative trait locus(QTL) mapping with 150 rice recombinant inbred lines which were developed from a cross between Nipponbare (japonica, low TGW) and 93-11 (indic a, high TGW).
