It has been demonstrated that the solar-grade silicon is produced using a new type of solar furnace for solar photovoltaic power generation.Apart from the "green" nature of this method, the physics mechanism involved in this process, in general, is similar to that of the usually adopted metallurgical approach with medium frequency induction furnace for purifying the silicon but with some specific and important characteristics, so that the purity gained in solar furnace is higher than in the latter.Hybridizing the silicon obtained from these two methods will yield solar-grade silicon with optimal purity needed for solar photovoltaic power generation.Moreover, by combining the solar cell produced with this method and applying few times concentration and tracking of the solar power, the cost of the electric power thus generated will be reduced significantly and can be comparable with that generated from the usual power plant.
