The projection procedure in the computerized tomographic (CT) imaging is treated as a linear discrete system with special inputs and outputs, i.e., the illumination beams of X-rays are regarded as the inputs while its projections are regarded as the outputs.A new scheme is proposed to construct the inputs. Thus, the image reconstruction becomes a parameter estimation question. In this paper, the recursive least square with forgetting factor (FF-RLS) algorithm is employed in the parameter estimation. The results of simulation example demonstrate the proposed algorithm have very good performance even in the case of rather low projection density, which is much better than the general filtered backprojection (FBP) algorithm.
