Spin transfer nano-oscillators (STNOs) based on spin transfertorque have attracted intense attention due to their potential applicationsin microwave source and wireless microwave communications because of their uniquecharacteristic such as simple structure, nanoscale size, frequency agile, and easyintegration.Recently, we studied the microwave emission in CoFeB-MgO magnetic tunnel junction with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. The results show that the STNO based on such structure has a low critical current density of less than 0.6 MA/cm2 and excellent microwave properties without applied magnetic field: the measured output power is 18 nWwith a narrow linewidth of 73 MHz at an applied dc current of 0.3 mA.These results suggest the STNO with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is promising for developing high-power nanoscale radio-frequency devices.
