Rapid advances have been made for micro/nano-fluidic technology,which demands computationally efficient design simulation tools that can capture non-equilibrium flow phenomena.Our recent development of conservative discrete velocity method for modelling gas flows beyond the Navier-Stokes hydrodynamics will be discussed.With a moderate discrete velocity set,we find our model can accurately recover steady and transient solutions of the kinetic equation in the slip-flow and early transition regimes.
