Purpose: researching on mutagenic effect of some hair dye, providing toxicological basis for estimation on using safety of the hair dye and providing reference for safe and healthy consumption.Method: performing mutagenic test on the hair dye by using salmonella typhimurium/mammal hepatomicrosomeenzyme test (Ames test).Result: the hair dye has bactriostasis under the dose of 20,000 ug per vessel and does not have bactriostasis under the dose of 10,000 ug per vessel or below;and based on the highest dose of 10,000 ug per vessel and under the condition of adding or not adding S9, the average number of revertant colonies of the hair dye dose groups does not exceed two times that of the solvent control group.Conclusion: the detected hair dye has no mutagenicity.
