The current practice of cable-stayed bridges design is still based on a quasi-static and approxi mated approach, although the importances of dynamic studies for these dynamically sensitive structures have been well credited. The implementation of a full dynamic analysis for wind and seismic loading at the design stage is undoubtedly the future trend of cable-stayed bridges design. To back this up, an extremely effi cient Integrated Finite Strip Method (IFSM) is developed, which allows the dynamic analysis of cablestayed bridges be performed in an efficient and effective manner using normal personal computers. In this paper, the development of a full-bridge model using IFSM is introduced and the overall analy sis is presented with the aid of a real bridge example. In addition, seismic analysis of cable-stayed bridge using Time-history Analysis under the finite strip environment is also demonstrated as an extension of its application.
