We introduce a surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)-functionalized,gold nanoparticle(AuNPs)-deposited paper strip capable of label-free rapid detection of of brassinosteroids(BRs)in plant tissues.The AuNPs paper strip was fabricated by the direct synthesis and deposition of AuNPs on wax-divided areas of a permeable porous substrate through a facile,power-free synthesizable,and highly reproducible in situ seed-mediated growth(ISSMG)technique,which can circumvent many challenges of the existing SERS substrates.
