Background Reelin,an extracellular matrix glycoprotein,is secreted by Cajal-Retzius cells in the brain marginal zone, and plays a major role in corticogenesis by inside-out pattern during brain development.Spontaneous and targeted mutations of RELN cause motor impairments and working memory deficits in adult mice.In order to explore the role of Reelin in higher brain function such as emotion and cognitive,Reelin Orleans (RelnOd) mice with C-terminal deletion mutation of RELN leading to defective secretion of Reelin were used to analyze behavioral and neurochemichal phenotype.
