Homogeneous catalysis by gold has developed to an important sector of catalysis research.[1] Initially efforts in methodology development clearly dominated, in the last years also an an increasing number of applications in synthesis has been reported.[2,3] Efforts to understand the basic mechanism of these reactions continuously accompanied the field.
