In 2012 to 2013 a brown leaf spot disease had broken out in a Chinese kiwifruit cultivar ‘Hongyang’ in Sichuan Province, which leading to premature defoliation and lower yield.To elucidate the causative pathogens and disease epidemiology, the pathogen was identified based on morphological characters and molecular methods, and meanwhile all the infected plants around orchards had been investigated.
