  Polycarbonate (PC) is a durable material,widely employed as engineering plastics.It usually manufactured via interfacial poly-condensation of bisphenol A and phosgene.[1,2] However we expect,in the near future,that the share of the phosgene based process contribution will go below 75%,because of the introduction of the phosgene free trans-esterification process.[3] This Non-phosgene polycarbonate production process can be started with green manufacturing process of diphenylcarbonate (DPC) without phosgene.Potential process configurations for reactive distillation of DPC,can only be developed reliably using not only information on kinetics and chemical equilibria but also information on the vapour-liquid equilibria (VLE) of the different species involved in the reactions.In this process,when DMC reacts with phenol and bisphenol A by trans-esterification,methylphenylcarbonate (MPC),DPC methanol to be produced.[4] However,the information available in literature on the chemical equilibria and kinetics for the trans-esterification of DMC and phenol and other intermediate MPC to DPC is still rather limited In this work,isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium data at constant pressure are reported for the MPC containing binary systems.In addition,density,viscosity and kinetic viscosity were measured for DMC,MPC,anisole,methanol at (288.15 to 318.15) K and atmospheric pressure.The experimental VLE data were correlated using the activity coefficient model.The VE and ΔR were correlated by the Redlich–Kisterequation[5] and physical properties were correlated with the Daubert and Danner equation,the linear equation and the Goletz/Tassion equation.The following figures illustrate that some of the determined VLE and mixture properties.
