Advances of microRNA in gastric carcinoma

  microRNA is a kind of 22 nucleotide non-coding small RNA.miRNAs play important roles in embryo develpoment,lipornetabolism,cancer,and Virus defense via regulating the expression of target genes at transcription level.Various Studies have demonstrated that miRNA is dysregulation in gastric cancer、breast cancer、esophagus cancer and other diseases.Gastric cancer is one of a malignant disease with high incidence in China.The recent study has shown that miR-21 is overexpressed in gastric cancer tissues,and associated with tumor size and invasion.In addition,miR-21 expression was negative correlation with RECK(reversioninducing cysteine rich protein with Kazal motifs,RECK),and promotes tumor migration and invasion by changing cell adhesion phosphorylation kinase and MMPs expression, including MMP-7 、MMP-2 and MMP-9.Furthermore,miR-10a significantly enhances the invasion and migration in gastric carcinoma BGC823 cell line.Overexpression miR-650 plays an oncogenic role to promote tumor growth,but miR-101 acts as a tumor suppressor in gastric carcinoma.According to the integrated database,we found that a variety of miRNAs involved in gastric cancers,and it needs much deeper exploring these miRNA function in gastric carcinoma in the near future.
