This paper has introduced the achievements of a China Fifth Stage Emission Standard(CN5)in use gasoline vehicle meeting the requirements of California LEV Ⅲ stage Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle 70(ULEV 70)emission regulations through post-pro- cessing optimization and calibration optimization. By comparing the emission requirements, characteristics and influences on vehicle e- mission of The New European Driving Cycle(NEDC)cycle and Federal Test Procedure 75(FTP-75)cycle, the author optimized the calibration data and the three way catalyst(TWC).According to the results of vehicle emission tests, fresh catalyst emission is within 50%of the limits of the ULEV70 emission regulation and fully meets the fresh emission targets. The research indicates that the CN5 gaso- line vehicles can meet the ULEV70 emission regulations by optimizing the TWC and the calibration.
