The Al2O3-supported Ru-Cu-Co catalysts were modified by loading with several additives(Mg,Zr,and La)by incipient wetness impregnation and tested in the Fischer-Tropsch reaction using a simulated syngas(CO/H2)mixture similar to that obtained in biomass gasification. The catalysts characterization included N2 adsorption,X-ray diffraction(XRD),temperature programmed reduction(TPR)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)techniques. The modification of support has a great influence on the interaction between active metal and support and then the reducibility of active metal oxides. The result shows that the additives affected the catalyst activity and the C5+ selectivity and Zr was the best species for improving the performance.
