  Three-dimensional fluorescence spectrometry and ultraviolet spectrophotometry were employed to identify interactive charged characteristics and spectral characteristics of the DOM in the secondary effluent of urban wastewater treatment with the heavy metal ions.The results showed that the DOM that interacted with the heavy metal ions were negatively charged.
