Summary:Autologous hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) transplantation are currently being evaluated as novel treatments for autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Here we first report a case of autologous HSCs combined with MSCs transplantation in a 25-year-old severe SLE patient with multiple life-threatening complications and refractory to conventional cyclophosphamide (CYC) therapy.
