Due to the rapid progress made in the understanding the mechanisms involved in psoriasis pathogenesis,a larger plethora of targeted therapies have been developed that can more precisely inhibit specific pathogenic events in the psoriatic plague.Many of these have shown remarkable efficacy and convenience of use while showing surprisingly few serious side effects.Although high costs are associated with the use of these medications at present,we are inching ever closer to the day when one can claim that a psoriasis patient can live a life that is essentially free of visible signs and consequences of psoriatic disease.
