　　The Gross-Pitaevskii(GP)equation plays a central role in the understanding of BEC.The two-body nonlinear term is parameterized by the s-wave scattering length.However,higher order corrections are needed for better approximations in some cases.With the correction,we get the modified GP model: iθtψ=-1/2Δψ+V(x)ψ+β|ψ||2ψ-δΔ(|ψ|2)ψ In my talk,I will discuss some numerical and asymptotic results for the model.Two special kinds of potentials are considered.I will also study the dimension reduction problem.
