Seismicity rate increases in the Tokyo Metropolitan area following the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku (Tohoku-oki) earthquake are basically well correlated with the static changes in the Coulomb Failure Function (△CFF) imparted by the mainshock, while some other possible factors (e.g., dynamic stress changes, excess of fluid dehydration) may also contribute the rate changes.
