Crosstalk between cancer cells and matrix cells, such as fibroblasts,is a key mechanism of tumor microenvironment formation. In this process, fibroblasts are recognized to be polarized rather to immune cell phenotypes by secreting cancer cell favorable proteins. However, the molecular manifestations responsible for this malignant transformation are unclear. We hypothesize that cancer cells can transport translation-regulating proteins to fibroblasts.
