Background:Tea [Camellia sinensis(L.) O.Kuntze] and oil tea (Camellia oleifera Abel.)are two different species of Genus Camellia Linn.Theaceae.They differ greatly in secondary metabolites.In tea plant,the three major characteristic constituents are flavonoids,theobromine and theanine while in oil tea plant there are a wide range of the fatty acids.
