According to recent estimates, the majority of work-related upper limb disorders are regarded as diagnostically unclassifiable. However, we have demonstrated in the primary as well as secondary health sector the frequent association of pain, weakness and/or numbness/tingling to neurological physical findings suggesting brachial plexopathy. While the relation to upper limb complaints of external mechanical exposures in work is well-established there is only limited knowledge about such potential risk factors for brachial plexus afflictions.
