Vortex quick separator (VQS) is a novel Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (FCC) riser termination device (RTD) developed by China University of Petroleum (Beijing).Nowadays, VQS has been widely used in the petrochemical industries to remove the particles from the carrying gas, for its stable operation, high efficiency of particle separation and desirable performance in coking prevention[1,2].Over the past years, many FCC units all over China have been revamped by using the technique of VQS.
