Romantic Love is a kind of widespread phenomenon across cultures.Since 1990s,it has become the neurobiology,cognitive neuroscience,psychology and other interdisciplinary’s new research focus.fMRI studies have found that love has its specific activated brain regions,and the brain regions activated of different periods of romantic love have both similarities and differences,such as early stage of love activating VTA (ventral tegmental area) and caudate nucleus,long-term love activating VTA,caudate nucleus,hippocampus,cerebellum,lovelorn period activating nucleus accumbens and orbitofrontal cortex,but these brain regions are involved in brain reward system with abundant dopamine,suggesting that love is associated with reward-motivation circuits.ERP research found that the components changed in love.In addition,love,in addition to activating the reward circuits,inhibit brain regions associated with negative emotions and social jugement; love also shows some characteristics of addiction system.In the end,from the aspects of study method,measuring method and attachment types of love,we discussed the possible direction of future research in love field.
