Polymeric Hybrid Photo-electric Materials via Aqueous Approaches

  The past decade has witnessed the innovation of fluorescent materials trending from organic dyes,conjugated polymer,rare earth,semiconductor nanocrystals to carbon-based materials.Many kinds of luminescent semiconductor nanocrystals were prepared using aqueous methods in our lab[1],such as CdTe,ZnSe,CdHgTe and so on.Furthermore,aqueous approaches to polymer-nanocrystals hybrid solar cells were developed based on these nanocrystals[2-3].Photovoltaic devices based on CdTe-poly(p-phenylene-vinylene)PPV nanocomposites present the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 2.14%.The QDs evolve under the limitation of polymer and efficient interpenetrating network structure is established through the heat-introduced QDs aggregation and growth.Varying the QDs composition,the photovoltaic response can be finely controlled with the usage of the solar spectra from UV to Near-infrared range.Poly(1,4-naphthalene vinylene)PNV is also demonstrated to be effective for controlling the QDs evolution.The PCE of the hybrid photovoltaic devices is 4.6%and the hybrid film presents excellent thermal stability[4-8].With the concept of true green chemistry,we are focused on the photoluminescent polymeric nano-carbon dots[9] and due to the special chemical composition,they possess good biocompatibility,photoelectric and optical properties.
