Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction is one of the most intriguing manifestations of relativistic effects in magnetic solids. It plays a crucial role to stabilize a variety of non-trivial spin structures such as skyrmions. Thus, quantitative understanding and control of the DM interaction is of great interest.Recently, it has been experimentally shown that the DM interaction in Mnl-xFexGe, one of representative skyrmion systems, has drastic carrier density dependence [1].Motivated by this study, here, we study how the DM interaction changes its size and sign in metallic helimagnets.Using first-principles calculations, we successfully reproduce the non-trivial sign change of the DM interaction observed in the experiment. The origin of the sign change is discussed in terms of spin mixing due to spin-orbit coupling in the band structure [2].
