　　Background Parastomal hernia is a very common complication after stoma formation.Previous studies have shown that the use of a mesh implanted at the time of primary stoma formation is a safe procedure and reduces the occurrence of parastomal hernia.However,the result might be unreliable due to absence of newly published studies.Thus we curried out this update meta-analysis.
