Drug repurposing,the process of finding new application of existing drugs,has attracted attention from those who engaged in drug discovery and has been gaining popularity in recent years since repositioned drugs do not have concern about serious toxic effects.Besides,repositioned drugs may waive high-cost and time-consuming studies,such as phase I dose escalation study,to reduce the length of time-to-market.
