Suspension cells play key roles in physiological functions as well as in the progress of some diseases.For example,leukocytes in the bloodstream undertake the task of immunity in mammal,while certain tumor cells in anchorage-independent state are thought to be responsible for cancer metastasis.Observation and analysis on these suspension cells at single-cell level can reveal corresponding physiological or pathological processes more accurately.Nowadays,droplet microfluidics emerges as a powerful tool in single-cell researches.
