The influence of air flow excitation is more efficacious in many rotating machineries.Researching on air flow excitation is important and necessary.In the paper, a Formula of air flow excitation is derived by Muszynska model.Using the model, the threshold speed of the rotor-seal system is deduced.The result of numerical computation has been proved to be effective of the model in the coordinates of the origin.In consequence, this formula is useful of engineering applications.
